Refund & Cancellation Policy – Petos Insurance

This Refund & Cancellation Policy ("Policy") outlines the terms and conditions governing cancellation of Petos Insurance plans and the corresponding refund eligibility. By purchasing a Petos policy, the policyholder ("Insured") acknowledges and agrees to the terms stated herein.

1. Cancellation by the Insured

  • The Insured may cancel the policy at any time by providing a minimum of fifteen (15) days' prior written notice to Petos.
  • A refund shall be processed only if no claim has been submitted, made, admitted, or is under consideration during the policy period.
  • Where any claim has been filed (irrespective of outcome), no refund shall be payable, and the policy shall be deemed fully utilized for the respective policy term.

2. Cancellation by Petos

Petos reserves the right to cancel the policy by providing fifteen (15) days' written notice to the Insured in cases including, but not limited to:

  • Fraudulent activity
  • Willful misrepresentation
  • Non-disclosure or suppression of material facts

In such cases, if no claim has been made during the policy period, refund shall be processed in accordance with the Short-Period Refund Scale set out below.

3. Refund Eligibility — Short-Period Scale

Where the policy is cancelled and no claim has been made, the refund of premium shall be calculated on a short-period basis, depending on the number of days the policy has remained in force.

Note:

  • All refunds are calculated exclusive of applicable taxes, which are non-refundable.
  • Refunds are subject to verification and internal compliance approval.

4. Free-Look Period

Where applicable, the Insured shall be entitled to cancel the policy within fifteen (15) days from the date of receipt of the policy document ("Free-Look Period").

A full refund of the premium shall be provided, subject to the following conditions:

  • No claim has been made during the Free-Look Period
  • The policy document is returned within the stipulated timeframe

Applicable administrative or stamp charges may be deducted where permitted by law.

5. Non-Refundable Scenarios

No refund shall be payable under the following circumstances:

  • Any claim has been filed or is under review during the policy term
  • Cancellation is requested after 181 days from the policy start date
  • Breach of policy terms or material non-compliance by the Insured

6. Refund Processing

  • All refunds are processed subject to Petos' internal audit, verification, and regulatory requirements.
  • Approved refunds shall be made to the original payment method within standard processing timelines communicated by Petos.

Petos reserves the right to amend, modify, or update this Policy in accordance with regulatory guidelines and internal compliance obligations.
